s'more wedding ideas...

With Summer approaching and dates being filled with backyard bbq's, weddings, and outdoor activities- I've seen a lot of advertisements for "making s'mores!  There's nothing like bringing the child out of you by making a good ooey gooey s'more around a campfire.  This is a great personalized favor or just plan to have a s'mores dessert table at your wedding/event- the guest will have fun with it and definately won't forget it.

Check out some s'more ideas below ~ who would have though s'mores could look so {pretty}?

In Bloom...

I was walking through the store the other day and noticed all the beautiful Hydrangeas in full bloom!  Blue hydrangea's, can be all sorts of shades, depending on the time of year, my favorite is the very soft subtle Hydrangeas- with blue tips and a touch of green, but you can get them where they almost look purple!  They make beautiful yet simple bouquets and centerpieces.  Make sure you keep them in water anytime your not handling them and will last throughout your entire wedding day or event.

The TomKat Studio...One Word..."LOVE"

I love weddings, I love cute blogs, I love parties, and I love custom printables...
and I love, love, love The TomKat Studio!
When I first started planning my daughters 1st birthday party, I searched the web for adorable ideas and cute themes that I could impliment or at least be inspired by to bring the crafty person out of me and to the {table} for a memorable event.  This is when I stumbled upon so many amazing etsy shops, creative designers, and blogs I couldn't believe I didn't know about yet.  One shop that became an quick favorite was  The TomKat Studio !
I've been anxiously awaiting highlighting her etsy shop and blog, but then when I saw her {Cupcake Monday} Post today, http://www.thetomkatstudio.com/cupcake-monday-owl-love-you-forever-event/ I felt the time was right to give this lady her own props for  A.) Being an amazing designer who I just wish I had a tiny bit of the talent she has, and for being part of such an awsome event and charity that I fully support- the Owl Love You Forever  an organization that helps women who give birth to stillborn babies.

Kim Stoegbauer and her team create party printables that are unbelievable, and offer fun, fresh, and inspiring decorating and crafting ideas on The TomKat Studio blog.  The details and color are always impressive and are ALWAYS making me want to see more ;-)

Sweet Designs by Amy Atlas (http://www.amyatlas.com/) just to name a few.

The best part is...she is now offering her designs as "DIY' printables!!!!! So checkout her etsy shop for your next event and follow her blog or find her on facebook for fabulous giveaways and inspiring ideas or just a fun read ;-)

Thank You...

My son graduated preschool this week! What a proud mommy moment ;-).  He had two excellent teachers this year who did some pretty amazing things with the kids.  I like to get the Teachers little appreciation gifts at the end of the year, and this year thanks to http://eighteen25.blogspot.com/ , I made them! These were super easy and a budget friendly, cute way to say THANK YOU!  The only thing I had to buy was the Gift Cards...I had everything else right at home!

what you'll need:
  • 5x7 thanks a latte print found here (i had mine printed at Costco)
  • a coffee sleeve (i used the backside of one from starbucks)
  • white or kraft cardstock
  • twine (i used the caribbean color)
  • stapler and double sided tape (or other adhesive)
  • gift card for starbucks (or other coffee house)
how to put it together:
  • attach the print to a 5.5" x 7.5" piece of cardstock
  • trim the coffee sleeve to 4" wide (cutting with the corrugated lines)
  • place a piece of double sided tape to the very bottom of sleeve and attach to print
  • staple sides of the sleeve and insert card
  • tie some fun twine around your gift
**for extra fun, place the card inside of a paper pastry bag and hand out to all of those well-deserving teachers

My favorite Things...

Each week I plan to try and post about something I use or have used that I consider a favorite and give a review on it!  Whether it be an etsy seller, piece of jewlery, cosmetics, party supplies, etc.  Occassionally, I will put these items up as {Giveaways}! Everyone loves something free, especially when it's something with a great review!  So Check out {MY FAVORITE THINGS} each week to see what the featured item is!
This weeks favorite item...
MAC Lipglass

It's nothing new- this little tube of wonder, and I've been using it since about...1999 lol, but I love it, and it's a product that I always seem to come back to when all else fails with other lipglosses.
The have an amazing variety of colors to choose from, you can find them at any MAC counter at department stores all around, and you can use this item for a night on the town, or just to add a touch of color when your out running errands. The LipGlass can be worn alone for suble shine or over lipstick for a overall glamours look.

"There aren’t many lipglosses on the market that are as shiny and long-lasting as MAC’s Lipglass. Slick onto your lips in shades such as ‘Revealing’ or ‘Oh Baby’ for a similar pout to Kim’s." (myfashionlife.com)

This LipGlass is even a Readers' Choice Award Winner for Allure Magazine
MAC MAC LipGlass Lip Gloss Shock-O-Late (M·A·C)

One piece of information that might be important for some that may make Lipglass not really their choice of gloss...some of them are sticky when first applied.  I have had some of the colors stickier than others, and I don't have the chemical reason for why that might be.  I don't mind the stickiness and it doesn't last, but I feel obliged to tell you upfront- if your checking them out!

I apologize for the lack of post this last week!  I was sorta-kinda busy throwing a suprise 30th birthday party for my husband at our house :) Did I pull it off?...... YES!!  It was a big success and I'm so grateful that we have amazing friends & family who helped keep it a secret and bring food, prep food, mow the grass ;-) and watch the little ones as it all came together in a matter of 1.5 hours.  My house went from looking like an ordinary-not-a lot going on afternoon to a fun and upbeat "Golfing with Margaritas" 30th Birthday Bash!   Thanks to all who came, you are truely what MADE the party!  Check out the photos below!
